No doubt, they top the wishlist of producers making celluloid love stories. Just a few days back we reported about Ranbir Kapoor being signed up to play a medieval warrior in the remake of the Telugu superhit Magadheera. Now, we hear that Katrina Kaif is billed to bag the role of the princess the warrior is sworn to protect. In the original film, Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal wowed the fans with their sparkling chemistry. In the Hindi remake, to be produced by Madhu Mantena (producer of Ghajini), Ranbir and Katrina will recreate the eternal romance. The film tells the story of a warrior who protects the princess of his kingdom, only to be killed and born again 400 years later to take his revenge. It’s essentially a love story between the warrior and the princess. Given the subject, the director S S Rajamouli (director of Magadheera) and producer Mantena feel they need a couple who can bring out the passion on screen in the Hindi remake. Obviously, Ranbir and Katrina top their wishlist. After all they do look good together, not just off the screen.

After the photoshoot, there was a buzz about the two of them coming together in a film soon, but nothing happened. Aamir reportedly even got an offer from a production house, but he couldn't say yes as Salman, Katrina were dating at that time. Now the same production house has approached Aamir again, and the actor might give his go-ahead this time around. A source told TOI, "Now that Salman and Kat have split, Aamir may team up with the Bollywood diva."

And when it was her birthday recently, Ashmit especially flew down to Delhi from Mumbai to be with her at her birthday party. But what could have been an awesome day for the couple turned out to be a nightmare for both Ashmit and Veena. A host of journos asked the couple several uncomfortable questions. Veena was even asked about her relationship with Pak cricketer Mohammad Asif, and whether she was also involved in the match-fixing controversy. Naturally the actress didn’t answer the questions and started mingling with other media persons. Later, it’s reported that when the couple went to cut the cake, a fight broke out between a bouncer and a journo. Seeing this, the media decided to boycott the event and they also demanded an apology from the bouncer. So though Ashmit made it special, Veena’s birthday party was not without spoilers.

A lot of people from the film industry turned up to wish Shahid Kapoor on his birthday on Saturday. Many leading ladies of his films -- including Rani Mukherjee, Anushka Sharma, Genelia D’Souza and Sonam Kapoor -- were there. But conspicuous by her absence was Priyanka, who reportedly had a fight with Shahid and then flew to the US. Shahid and Priyanka’s perpetually now-on-now-off relationship has been fodder to gossip mills, but sources close to the couple claim that Shahid doesn’t often express his affection for Priyanka and this ticks her off. That’s apparently also the reason behind their latest tiff, following which Priyanka packed her bags and left to the US, caring not a hoot to return on his birthday on Saturday. But we hear that Shahid did try to persuade her to change her mind and return to Mumbai for his birthday bash. He kept trying till the last hour, but when Priyanka did not give any bhav, he too gave up. However, knowing well the history of their blow-hot-blow-cold romance, we won’t be surprised if they kiss and make up soon.

So after Ranbir’s Rockstar look, be ready to watch him as a braveheart soldier. No less than a treat for Ranbir’s fans it’s gonna be as the actor also likes to experiment. The Magadheera remake is going to be a big budget film. We hear that the director of the original S S Rajamouli has been retained for the film which is going to be made on a whopping Rs 90 crore. When Ranbir heard the script he was thrilled because he always wanted to do a costume drama. Though the film is on the theme of reincarnation, it will also have a contemporary setting. The character demands a lean yet handsome boy with a calm persona and go-getter attitude. So, the debonair Ranbir is perfect for it. Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena is going to produce the film, but an official confirmation from the makers is awaited. Magadheera is about a warrior who protects the princess of his kingdom, only to be killed and born again 400 years later to take his revenge. The face of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Katrina Kaif, has reportedly backed out of the contract and will no longer be the brand ambassador for Vijay Mallya’s IPL cricket team. According to reports, Katrina Kaif has opted out citing date troubles. Katrina will be in Agra to shoot for the final leg Aditya Chopra’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan during the IPL games, therefore making it difficult for her to attend the matches and cheer for the team. Thus, Kat does not see the point in continuing as the brand ambassador. Any guesses for who is going to step into Katrina's shoes? Well, there is buzz that Deepika Padukone may replace Katrina, however this is not likely to happen as Deepika shares a close relationship with Sidhartha Mallya. We are however, likely to see Deepika alongside Sidharth at the matches, cheering for RCB.

Now, the talented actress will prepare for a very challenging role of a mentally-challenged heroine to the deaf-and-dumb Ranbir Kapoor. And see who’s helping her out in preparing for the role? It’s Shahrukh Khan, her favourite co-star of Don and Don 2. Priyanka plays a mentally challenged girl in Anurag Basu's thriller Barfee and she has to undergo training to prepare for the role. As Shahrukh effortlessly played a man with Asperger's Syndrome in My Name Is Khan, who else better than him to help her out! Naturally, Priyanka is excited and tells a tabloid, “If the character comes out right I'll have a lot to thank him for. I consider SRK one of the finest actors in world. To be able to spend so much time with him both on and off camera is a blessing.” Priyanka will train for almost a month for the role and has already begun visiting schools and institutions for the mentally challenged.

After Deepika Padukone, no other actress has been confirmed for the film. Now, rumours have it that Rekha is approached to pair opposite Rajinikanth. Rana just like Robot is going to be a big film to be released in many languages, and in the film the fans of the superstar will be treated with three Rajinis. In Robot (Endhiran) there were two. Yes and that also means Rajini will romance three different actresses. Recently, rumours were rife that Rajini is keen to sign Madhuri Dixit for one of the roles, but the actress said no. Rekha’s gracious, gorgeous looks still make many men go weak at their knees. Rajnikant has even worked with her in two films. In fact, his last Hindi film Bulandi had Rekha. As for now, we can just wait to see whom Rajinikanth gets to romance on big screen. Most of Rajinikanth’s recent films have seen the superstar with young actresses like Shriya Saran and Aishwarya Rai.

We hear, the actor is going to celebrate his birthday at a suburban Italian joint but his ladylove will be conspicuously missing from his side. Rumour has it that the lovey-dovey couple has fought once again and called off their relationship for the umpteenth time. But knowing how whimsically they make up after every lover’s spat, we won’t be surprised if PC indeed decides to shock Shasha by wishing him personally on the special day. Shahid has lately been busy shooting for dad Pankaj Kapur’s film Mausam in which he plays an Air Force pilot. The actor recently even flew the American combat aircraft F-16 at an Aeroshow in Bangalore. Shahid’s last film Milenge Milenge with ex flame Kareena Kapoor tanked at the box office but he tasted success with the Yash Raj film Badmaash Company last year. Now, with Mausam he’s hoping to add another hit movie to his filmography.
