The original film had Hema Malini in a double role. The two male protagonists were played by Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar where Dharmendra gets attracted to the village belle and Sanjeev Kumar to the city bred gal.<br /><br />The remake is to have Akshay Kumar sashaying the role of Dharmedra and Katrina Kaif to be the female protagonist. The other star has not yet been finalized suggest reports.<br /><br />Seems like this year is going to see a lot of Akshay Kumar on the silver screen and that too if he’s paired opposite the hot Katrina again maybe the magic of their earlier films together like Namaste London, Welcome, Singh Is Kingg etc might be back and the remake of Seeta Aur Geeta becomes a bigger hit than the original. It is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and is a Karan Johar Production.<br /><br />According to reports in a section of the media, Katrina allegedly walked out of the Abbas- Mastan movie inspired by Italian Job likely to feature Abhishek Bachchan. Hence, Aishwarya wanted her husband to be out of the Karan Johar film.<br /><br />Abhishek and Katrina have been paired opposite each other in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar, a few years ago.
