Aashayein Movie Review: John Abraham's new film: Aashayein is the story of a man’s journey from darkness to light. It’s a journey about love, hate, life, death and, above all, hope.
Aashayein
The movie stars John Abraham in the lead role. Sonal Sehgal plays his love interest. Supporting roles are played by Farida Jalal, Girish Karnad and Anahita Nair. The movie is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, director of acclaimed films like Iqbal and Dor.
Aashayein is a story of a compulsive gambler who discovers new meanings of fortune and life through a dramatic turn of events.
It is the story of Rahul Singh (John), how he goes from living an insignificant life to really living it. His girlfriend Nafisa (Sonal) is doting, loving and loyal. The film has a host of other characters like a fun-loving uncle (Girish Karnad), a caring sister Grace (Prateeksha Lonkar), a reformed prostitute (Farida Jalal) who hopes to leave her past behind and a ten-year-old notorious Govinda (Ashwin Chitale).
Aashayein is an inspiring, bittersweet fable that reminds the viewer that life is short and to make the best of it. Aashayein is, just as the title suggests, is a film about hopes. It teaches us to live life today and not tomorrow.
Aashayein has music by Salim-Sulaiman. The film is slated to release on August 27.
